1. I attended a small high school. It was a K-12 school with around 500 students in the whole school. I loved that everyone knew you and you knew everyone. This went for the teachers too.
2. I had great teachers!!! My favorite teacher was my English teacher - cKb- She was a wonderful English and literature teacher and I learned so much from her!! She is still near and dear to my heart! She teaches at the local Community College and I really want my daughter to be able to have her as a teacher. College Girl wants to major in English and I think that having cKb would make her love English/literature even more!
3. I loved cheering for my high school! I was a cheerleader for 4 years and was captain my senior year. I was even a cheerleader mascot when I was just 4 years old. I wanted to cheer for my "Bulldogs" from that point on!! I loved pep rallies, wearing my red and white uniforms, homecoming, making signs to hang up at the ball game, painting downtown business windows for the big games, shaking my huge pom poms, supporting my team, dating the quarterback, having a victory line, attending cheerleader clinic every summer, and going to away games only to get back real late!
4. My best friend went to high school with me. Even though she was younger than me, we still were at school everyday together and we even cheered together for 1 year. I had many good high school friends that I still am in contact with even now. True friends are friends forever!!
5. I enjoyed learning! I enjoyed getting new notebooks, pens, pencils, and paper each new semester. I couldnt wait to organize my notebooks and get ready to take notes! I feel that I got a great education at my high school!
6. I loved knowing students from the other schools in our county. Since all the schools in our county were not very big we all knew each other.
7. I loved knowing my biggest crush! He doesnt know what my true feelings were for him back then or still to this day nor will he. But I know!!!
8. I loved having had one of the most inspirational teachers I have ever known. She was dedicated to her students and wanted them to truly understand the concepts of math even when she was dying of cancer. She never though of herself, only of her students that she had to teach! To this day, I think of her often and the things she taught me and instilled me. sWm I miss you and love you!!!!
9. I loved going to high school when drugs and violence wasnt an issue. I loved being able to go to school unafraid and being able to truly learn!!!
10. I loved my high school plain and simple! I still love it to this day. I feel a strong allegiance to it and everything about it! New teachers, administrators, students and buildings are there now but the true spirit of ole WHS will always be there always and forever!!!
